With a range of fares starting from NZ$1.00, travelling on Naked Bus and InterCity Coachlines bus and coach services is an affordable way to travel between New Zealand's major ski and snowboard fields but the same time see New Zealand's scenic beauty.

Bus and coach operators like InterCity Coachlines and Mana/ Naked Bus operate frequent daily regional and long distance bus and coach services in both the North and South Island, with some services connecting with Cook Strait ferry services that operate between Wellington in the North Island and Picton in the South Island.

InterCity Coachlines operates a modern fleet of eco-friendly buses and coaches featuring reclining seats with foot and head rests and are fully air conditioned for passenger comfort.  

InterCity Coachlines regional buses and coaches do not have onboard toilet facilities but do stop regularly for refreshment and comfort breaks on route.

InterCity Coachlines operates the Starlighter overnight coach services between Wellington, Palmerston North, Taupo, Rotorua and Auckland connects with the Wellington/Picton ferry services operating between the North and South Islands.

The Starlighter overnight coach service features reclining seats with foot and head rests, individual air-conditioning controls and reading light, onboard toilet/washroom facilities and makes two refreshment/comfort stops on route.

Reservations can be made for combined bus and Cook strait ferry travel from Paihia, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston North or Wellington to Christchurch, Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura or Nelson. Reservations for drop off at Christchurch international airport on InterCity Coachlines northbound services from Invercargill, Te Anau, Timaru, Oamaru, Ashburton, Dunedin and Queenstown to Christchurch. Christchurch Airport pick/drop off is also available on InterCity Coachlines Christchurch, Tekapo, Twizel, Omaramara, Cromwell and Queenstown scenic services.

Reservations to and from Auckland international airport to any southbound destination outside of the greater Auckland urban region can be made either from the International or domestic terminals.

Reservations for bus and coach travel within the greater Auckland urban region can not be made, as these services are local commuter services.

With a 'Hop On/Hop Off' bus and ferry pass, you can travel at your own pace on New Zealand's largest national scenic travel bus and ferry network using regular scheduled Cook Strait ferry, InterCity bus and coach services or on any Great Sights premier sightseeing journeys in any direction as many times up to 12 months from date of your first travel reservation.
